About Dr Monique Nesa

Passionate about supporting fellow therapists

Monique is a clinical psychologist and board-approved supervisor who is passionate about supporting fellow therapists, just like you, to nurture themselves.

My story

How do we continue doing work we deeply care about without losing ourselves?

Like many people in health and helping professions, I know how easily caring for others can come at the expense of our own wellbeing.

Over time, I found myself increasingly depleted by continually adapting, carrying responsibility and showing up for others. That experience prompted me to reconsider not only how I cared for myself, but how I wanted to work. It deepened my understanding that sustainable practice is not simply about coping better—it is about learning to include ourselves in the care we so readily offer others.

This became the foundation for Nurture Me for Therapists, through which I offer reflective supervision, professional development and practical learning designed to support self-attunement, reduce the risk of burnout and nurture more compassionate and sustainable ways of working.

My philosophy

Caring for ourselves is an essential part of caring well for others.

My approach is compassionate, reflective and practical. I look beyond what a person is experiencing to consider the patterns, expectations and environments that may be shaping it. Together, we explore realistic changes that fit with their life and work.

My values

01

Thoughtfulness

Paying attention to what matters, noticing the small things and acting with intention.

02

Compassion

Responding to ourselves and others with kindness, understanding and care.

03

Integrity

Working in ways that are evidence-informed, authentic and aligned with my values.

04

Connection

Recognising that meaningful growth happens within relationships built on trust and respect.

Qualifications & experience

Evidence-informed, authentic and tailored to the individual.

Over the past twenty years I’ve worked across university, government, corporate and private practice settings. I hold a Master’s and PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology and am a Psychology Board of Australia-approved Clinical Psychology Supervisor.

My approach draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Schema Therapy. I tailor therapy to each person, their circumstances and what matters most to them.

Whether we meet in therapy, in supervision, in a workshop or through an online course, my hope is the same, that you leave with a little more understanding of yourself, and a way forward that feels genuinely sustainable.
